Description

The Learning & Development Manager will be responsible for understanding learning gaps, creating, developing, suggesting, and selecting appropriate learning material to improve the productivity of the organization's employees. In this role you will assess company-wide developmental needs, along-side executive leadership, as well as corral current training activities across the organization. The L&D Manager will find resourceful ways to bring learning to the organization. In some cases you will go out and find standardized training, when applicable, and in other cases you will glean content from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and business stakeholders, then design the training. You’ll leverage technology to present content to the organization. In this role you’ll drive training initiatives; identifying and arranging suitable training solutions for employees and manage a mechanism for tracking completion of learning initiatives.

  • Meet with internal business leaders to assess training and development needs
  • Come up with best solutions to get training designed, sourced and delivered
  • Gather content from SME’s and design applicable training for Technical Operations, Sales & other groups
  • Source standardized training when possible (HR & Compliance training, Safety & New Manager training, etc.)
  • Corral all learning and development initiatives presently across the organization
  • Leverage programs used for various business units, and offer applicable training to other business units
  • Present innovative ways to deliver required content without taking audiences off the job for extended periods; offering micro or byte size learning approach & communications
  • Deliver soft skills and Human Resources training on occasion
  • Oversee training programs and initiatives
  • For Sales & Technical Operations develop Cross selling, product training and more. For employees across the organization develop Human Resources training, for instance, Compliance, On-boarding, Affirmative action, Drug-free workplace, New manager & Conflict resolution training.
  • Manage the development and rollout of an organized platform for learning materials, budgeting, approvals, and learning maps using SharePoint
  • Manage and track certifications program on SharePoint
  • 8+ years’ learning and development experience in the HR and Sales areas.
  • Proven experience as an Instructional Designer and Content Developer
  • Must be inquisitive and a doing manager
  • Passion for improving processes, systems and procedures while leveraging technology
  • Possess a high degree of flexibility, creativity, persistency and resiliency
  • Ability to communicate effectively will all levels of employees & leadership, and operate in a matrix organization with shifting priorities

Bachelors degree required
